Pistachio seed planting training
Pistachio seed planting training
High quality pistachio seeds can be easily planted in most soils with Iranian Pistachio different composition and material, so that in saline soils it is more tolerant than other trees, but in shallow, hard and stony lands does not get good results. The best soils for planting pistachio seeds are soils with a combination of sand and clay with good drainage and ventilation. The deeper it is, the better its growth and production. Also, the need for water for pistachio trees is very low, however, this does not mean that the plant will not need water in general.
Basic method of sowing pistachio seeds (numbers based on pictures)
At the end of March and the beginning of spring, soak pistachio seeds in wet water for about 24 to 48 hours (preferably 24 hours), during which time we change the water in the desired container several times.
After re-washing using fungicides such as carboxine tyram, benomyl is disinfected at a rate of 52.5 to 3 per thousand and sodium hypochlorite (bleach, Vitex) 50 cc per kilogram of seed for 5 to 10 minutes.
Pistachio seeds should then be placed in special cloth bags that are regularly kept moist for 4 to 5 days (suitable temperature for seed germination is 20-30 ° C).
After the seeds germinate, pistachios should be disinfected with fungicide (PCNB) or benomyl 4 per thousand. When the seeds bite, we transfer them to the ground before the sting rises.
The ability to germinate differs between the seeds of different species of pistachios. Pistachio seed germination depends on the hardness of the pistachio skin (endocarp). Scratching with sulfuric acid for 1.5 hours and then soaking the seeds in water for 24 hours will increase the speed and germination of pistachios. The use of boneless seeds for germination can be considered due to the uniform germination.
