Improvement of saline and sodium soils of pistachio trees

As the name implies, saline soil is a type of soil that has the characteristics of Iranian Pistachio saline and sodium soils mentioned above. This means that both saline and sodium are higher on the surface of its particles than calcium and magnesium.

To improve such soil, like sodium soil, it is necessary to add agricultural gypsum along with leaching with heavy irrigation. Obviously, in this case, proper soil drainage is a prerequisite.

Depending on the amount of sodium in the soil, the amount of gypsum required also varies. Determining the need for soil gypsum (amount of gypsum consumption) is possible in consultation with experts.

After calculating the required amount of gypsum, the gypsum with suitable quality is transported from the mine to the garden and sprinkled in a strip at least one and a half meters wide on both sides of the tree and then the garden is given two times of heavy water.
